The Lost World Caverns

Comments

there's a world record for stalagmite sitting?!?

did you see CrankyPants' posts of the Stalagtit?
Beautiful photos. Reminds me of Luray Caverns. Only a man would attempt to sit on a stalagmite to set some record!!
Lmao, That is priceless..now I'm jealous! We saw no single perkies, but there were a couple of stiff ones in sight.

LOL @ Leenda...I wouldn't think they'd allow that!

cool pics, they turned out a lot better than mine @ Carlsbad!

Where is this located, Lost World?

In Lewisburg, West Virginia..now I really want to go to Carlsbad, more so after seeing that pic!
that's so funny how you guys named them so accurately. my favorite is the baba yaga's hut :) as with emjay, this reminds me of the time i went to luray caverns. i need to come down and visit that part of the world again!
Lol..we Only named Baba Yaga's hut; all others had been named already. I love caves and rocks and all things old..Luray is next on the list!
[this is good]
You could just go into the ground, wander around on your own and take pix? Amazing.
The pictures are breathtaking -- and impossible to imagine-- I can see them ,but can't really get the vision into my head-- it's just so foreign, like Mars or something -- (never been in a cave) - I'll bet there were scents and sounds, too, that were incredible...your pictures and captions arePEREFECT!!
I'll stop back later to look at each one. thank you for posting these!!
:) How did I forget to mention that..there's a constant backdrop of dripping water, flowing water, water you can't see, but its always there..beautiful but scary at the same time. And the scent of earth and rock and water...very nice.

This is great! You're right about Baba Yaga's hut. Where is this located?
In Lewisburg, West Virginia..east-ish US.
Water! Wow-- the sounds must have been eerily enchanting....
Rocks-- so many wonderful colors and textures! Thanks for sharing these pix-- fascinating!
